Simple lines of text are all you would see if you accessed the Internet when it was first made public. Since that time the Internet has greatly grown in appeal and information. Today we see a mixture of text, graphics, forms and even movies. With the evolution of the Internet, we are now seeing the integration of educational applications.

If you are interested in furthering your education, or just wish to take a class to better understand a subject chances are that your local College or University offer online courses. These courses combine online availability and traditional class room settings to provide a unique educational experience.

The US Department of Education recently commissioned 15 Institutions of Higher Learning to participate in a Distance Learning Initiative. This Distance Learning program allows an individual that would otherwise not be available during normal class times, the convenience of attending school at their leisure. A stay-at-home mom would be an ideal candidate for Distance Learning, completing nearly 100% of coursework from the convenience of their home computer.
